WEATHER REPORT CRITERIA OUTLINE
Attention,
all stations.
This
is [YOUR CALL] net control station for the Town
of Babylon Amateur Radio Emergency Services.
A
Severe Weather Net is now in progress.
Only
stations with legitimate severe weather reports or emergency traffic should
break into this net.
The
only reports considered legitimate are:
Reports of tornadoes on the ground ..
Funnel clouds aloft ..
Hail half an inch or larger ..
Winds in excess of fifty miles an hour ..
Flooding or other actual severe storm damage.
Major deviation from Transmitted National Weather Service Reports.
Condition
reports not meeting these criteria should not be passed unless specifically
requested by net control.
All
legitimate severe weather reports should contain:
Time (T), Location of Observation (L), and Condition (C).
Time
is the time you observed the event. If
you didn't see the event ... Don't report it.
Location
is the exact location of the event. Use
street names or highway numbers which can be pinpointed on maps.
Condition
is what is actually happening. It
must fit at least one of the criteria just mentioned.

Any station with a report give your call at this time.

REPORTING
PROCEDURE
Attention,
all stations.

of Babylon Amateur Radio Emergency Services..
Because
many reports may have to be passed and that time is critical please follow the
following procedure:
To
report into this severe weather net state your call using standard phonetics.
Net control will respond with "go ahead". Transmit your report clearly, slowly and calmly giving
each of the elements of the T-L-C, Time (T), Location of Observation (L), and
Condition (C).
Be
sure the condition you are reporting meets one of the essential criteria of a
legitimate severe weather report. When
your report is completed, drop your carrier and net control will acknowledge
receipt of this message with the proword "Roger".
If
net control or another priority station asks for further information or
clarification, answer the calling station directly without further use of call
signs. Make your statements clear
and brief.
End
your last piece of information with your call.
No further response from your station will be necessary.
